Video showing Trump scared over a shout of “Allahu Akbar” is Doctored
A 2016 video resurfaces on the internet with an audio manipulation

A video showing US President Donald Trump panicking after someone shouted “Allahu Akbar” has gone viral mostly among Nigerians. But ETN24 can report that the said video is from 2016 and that the audio was doctored.

The event in the video took place in Ohio in March 2016. Trump was campaigning for President when a certain Thomas Dimassimo,32, tried to breach the security buffer behind Trump. Dimassimo jumped the rack and tried to climb into the stage. He was later charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic.

Trump reacted by saying “I was ready for him, but it’s much easier if the cops do it.”. There was no shout of Allahu Akbar as can be seen in the newly circulating video.

The new video has been used mostly to mock Trump and present him as being scared of Iran. This is following recent tension between the United States and the Republic of Iran.

Trump Attack

After the March 2016 incident, Trump was also rushed off stage in Nevada after a false alarm. A man who was holding a “Republicans Against Trump” banner was thought to have a gun. Security agents wrestled him down and in the meantime then candidate Trump had to be whisked off stage.

A chant Hijacked

The chant of Allahu Akbar means “God Almighty is the Greatest” to more than a billion Muslims. So popular a phrase it is what is said before any move is made in the Muslim prayer. It is said by Muslims, compulsorily, about 17 times as a whole during the 5 daily prayers. If you add up the non-compulsory, the number goes up to about 102 times.

The phrase is also used for basic exclamations which may include joy, excitement, or even as a statement of agreement. It is also common as motivation when facing difficulty. Media emphasis on the latter when members of militant groups like ISIS, Boko Haram, and Al Qaeda, use it has made some associate the phrase with an impending attack. Explaining why it was doctored into a video showing a frightened Trump at a time he is threatening Iran.
